I recently had my photo "Tilikum Crossing", selected as the winner of a photo challenge on one of my favorite social media sites for photographers, Viewbug . The community is entirely of photographers and contains numerous contests with prizes, challenges, and opportunities to learn from fellow photographers. Prints are available for this shot and please check out the story of how I planned for the shot in the "Behind The Lens" story at the bottom of the page on the link here.
I spent Christmas morning freezing to get this shot near OMSI of the first U.S. designed bridge that only allows pedestrians and bikes. The name pays homage to the local Chinook term for "people". Also this bridge is lit every morning and night and looks amazing!
The weather was your typical overcast, wet, and cold Portland winter. Luckily together we captured some dreamy images throughout and avoided the rain. We went to several locations: downtown Portland, Forest Park, and Eastbank Esplanade. I absolutely loved the black and white photo from Eastbank Esplanade near the railing with Morrison Bridge in the background.
